SUMMARY:Pistol 145 (Intro to Defensive Pistol) – One Day (Seelyville\, IN)
DESCRIPTION:Pistol 145 Overview\nPrerequisites: Suggested—Revere’s Riders Pistol 100 or similar. This is not an introductory course and participants are expected to be capable of the following: \n\nhandling their firearm in a safe manner\nkeeping shots within a 6″ square from approximately 10 yards\n\nEstimated Ammunition Required: About 500 rounds/day. \nPistol Requirements: Pistols should be of a modern\, drop safe design. \nOlder single action pistols manufactured before the 1980s and lacking a transfer bar safety are the most common type of pistol that lack drop safe design features\, as do some military surplus imports from Eastern bloc countries and Taurus PT-series pistols not fixed during an international safety recall in 2015. These pistols may discharge if dropped and pose a potential safety hazard to our volunteers and students\, and are not permitted. If you have concerns about the safety features of your pistol you should have it inspected by an armorer or gunsmith before class. \nThe following are a good set of guidelines for an appropriate pistol for this event: \n\nbring the pistol you intend to use for concealed carry; leave the brand new pistol you bought the day before the event at home\na medium-frame pistol is often ideal for concealed carry (e.g.\, Glock 19 or similar); smaller pistols are difficult to shoot accurately and larger pistols are uncomfortable to carry all day long\nmake sure your pistol is in good working order; if in doubt\, have it checked by a qualified gunsmith or armorer. A pistol that malfunctions constantly will get you plenty of practice addressing malfunctions but not much practice with the drills\n\nIf you have any questions concerning the suitability of your pistol for this course\, please contact the Event Director. \nRequired Equipment: Please review our suggestions on appropriate Pistol 145 equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\nmagazines or speed loaders: bring at least THREE (more is better\, especially if you are using a pistol with a capacity of less than 10 rounds)\nholster: a strong side holster that does not collapse when your pistol is drawn (no appendix\, ankle\, shoulder or small-of-back holsters). Either IWB (“inside the waistband”) or OWB (“outside the waistband”) are fine\, but the holster you intend to use for concealed carry would be preferred. An OWB holster is often easier to use if you have never drawn from a holster before but will still allow you to participate fully in the drills we will conduct. The crucial aspect is that your holster MUST hold your firearm securely without letting it move around on your hip; this will necessitate a holster that attaches at TWO POINTS to your gun belt; there are a few holsters that attach to your gun belt at one point and still hold your firearm securely\, but they generally attach over an extended length of your belt effectively simulating two points of attachment.\ngun belt: you will have your pistol on your hip for the entire day. It will seem heavier as the day goes on and a good\, sturdy gun belt will minimize that feeling. A standard belt isn’t going to cut it here; spend a couple of dollars on a quality gun belt if you don’t already have one.\nmagazine carrier (you can get by with putting spare magazines in a pocket\, but a magazine carrier is much preferred)\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nclothing appropriate for the weather (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\n\nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nOverview: Pistol 145 begins with an overview of the range rules\, safety procedures and quick reminder of the fundamentals from basic pistol. From there\, the course focuses on the mechanics of defensive pistol shooting.  Lecture topics include: “Why do we do this?”\, the physiological and psychological aspects of dynamic critical incidents for both the “good guy” and the “bad guy”\, firearms and ancillary equipment for defensive use among other topics. Range exercises build on each successive evolution ending the day with a simple drill that rehearses the physical and mental issues dealt with during the class. \nAt the end of the course\, you will have learned a simple drill that will help you internalize the basics of defensive pistol craft. \nAdditional Event Information\nMinors (under 18 years old) must be mature enough to follow the instruction and perform the drills as well as have a parent or legal guardian present during the event. \nAdditional Questions?\nJohn is available at the email address below to answer questions both before and after the course.

SUMMARY:RR -- Battle Road Biathlon – One Day (Bedford\, IN)
DESCRIPTION:Battle Road Biathlon℠ Overview\nThe Battle Road Biathlon is an entry-level competitive event\, as opposed to an instructional clinic like most other Revere’s Riders events.  It has proven to be a challenging and fun time for men and women ages 13-60+ that  demands precision shooting under physical and mental pressure. Deceptively simple in design\, the course should put the participant in a physiological and psychological state “similar” to the colonial militia units on April 19\, 1775 as they desperately sought to effectively engage the “Lobsterbacks” before they could return to the safety of Boston. \nPrerequisites: Suggested—Rifle 125 or similar class. \nIf you have not attended Rifle 125\, then you should be able to reliably hit a 10 MOA target from the standing position\, a 7.5 MOA target from seated and 4 MOA target from prone and should be familiar with basic operation of your rifle. If you cannot meet the accuracy suggestion then you may be frustrated at this event and be better served learning the fundamentals of marksmanship at a Rifle 125 clinic. \nYou should be in reasonably-good health with the ability to run/hike 3/4 mile segments (x4) over varied unpaved terrain. \nRifle and Ammunition Required: A safe and reliable rifle chambered in .22 LR and 15 rounds of reliable .22 LR ammunition. Bringing extra ammunition is always a good idea! \nRequired Equipment: The following equipment is required to participate: \n\nsafe and reliable .22 LR rifle with sights of your choosing (optics or irons) sighted in at 35m (no other caliber will be permitted due to the exclusive design of our proprietary reactive targets)\nat least one and preferably three magazines for your rifle\nhearing protection\neye protection\nappropriate footwear with toe protection: either running shoes\, trail running shoes or hiking boots are recommended.  Sandals or flip-flops would not be appropriate or safe.\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nlunch (leaving the range for lunch is not feasible)\nsnacks\n\nOptional Equipment: In addition\, the following equipment is recommended for this event but not required: \n\nsling for your rifle (this will be a shooting aid ONLY; you will NOT be running/walking with your rifle)\nshooting mat\nsunscreen\nbug repellant\nhat with a brim\nfolding chair\n\nProhibited Equipment: The following equipment WILL NOT BE ALLOWED at this event: \n\nrifle chambered for any caliber other than .22 LR\n\nEvent Details\nOn April 19th\, 1775\, colonial militia companies from Massachusetts and surrounding colonies mustered and sent men to defend Lexington\, Concord and Menotomy from regular British troops who were attempting to destroy arms and powder of the “rebels” stored in Concord. In order to close with and engage the Redcoats before they could return to the safety of their base in Boston\, militia units had to move with urgency and purpose on Battle Road\, as well as other routes. When they did get within range of the Redcoats\, they had to use practiced marksmanship skills to hit their targets. This event will involve moving with urgency and purpose and then quickly transitioning to controlled breathing (and holding still!) while shooting with an elevated heart and respiratory rate. As on April 19th\, 1775\, only hits count! Competitors will shoot .22 rimfire rifles from three positions; standing\, seated and prone at reactive targets 35 meters (38.28 yards) away. Targets will be in three different sizes: \n\nStanding 4.485″ (12.27 MOA)\nSeated/Kneeling 3.12″ (8.53 MOA)\nProne 1.755″ (4.5 MOA)\n\nShooters/Runners/Walkers will each have an individually-assigned firing point and target. After each stage\, rifles will be cleared\, made safe and grounded at the firing points; you will NOT be running/walking with your rifle. \nCourse of Fire\nYou will use a total of 15 rounds; 3 magazines of 5 rounds each is recommended\, but you may use 1 magazine and load it 3 times with 5 rounds at a time. There will be 4 running/walking loops of 1.25K (3/4 mile) each\, for a total of 5K. It will be the same loop each time. These loops will be on unimproved trails through hilly woods and fields. There may be some natural obstacles such as logs or ditches\, but there will be no climbing or crawling. You may either run or walk. In between each running/walking loop is a shooting stage. The reactive targets\, which are plain black bullseyes\, will be in three rows of five targets in each row. Five shots will be taken in each of the three positions\, one shot per target. You either hit it\, or miss it (“Hits Count!”). The reactive target disks turn from black to white to indicate a hit. After shooting each stage\, and clearing/safing/grounding his/her rifle\, the competitor does a separate approximately 125 meter penalty loop for each miss before going back out on the 1.25K loop. The event will progress in the following manner: \n\nSquad start (competitors will start in squads of 8 at the same time)\nRun/walk 1.25K loop\nShoot unsupported standing one shot at each of five targets (top row)\nClear\, make safe and ground rifle\nRun/walk penalty loop once for each missed target\nRun/walk 1.25K loop\nShoot unsupported seated/kneeling (shooter choice) one shot at each of five targets (middle row)\nClear\, make safe and ground rifle\nRun/walk penalty loop once for each missed target\nRun/walk 1.25K loop\nShoot unsupported prone one shot at each of five targets (bottom row)\nClear\, make safe and ground rifle\nRun/walk penalty loop once for each missed target\nRun/walk 1.25K loop\nFinish\n\nThere will not be any traditional target scoring; either you hit the target or you miss it (“Hits Count!”). Since the penalty for missing is running/walking extra distance\, the winner will be determined by time only. After the last competitor from squad #1 finishes\, the targets will be reset and squad #2 will get ready.  Then\, while squad#2 is on the course\, the competitors from squad#1 are encouraged to stay for the famous Bedford fellowship and to cheer on the other competitors.  However\, participants who have finished are not required to stay for the entire day and may leave if necessary. Depending upon the number of registrants\, we may have up to 3 squads.  For those who stay until the last squad finishes\, we will have an awards ceremony\, pictures and some final brief words by the event director. Here is a video of a previous competitor shooting the seated stage.  This will give you an idea of what to expect from the shooting portion.  Note that this shooter previously scored at the Master level on the Revere’s Riders full distance (100-400 yards) “KD”qualifier! Download practice targets here. \nAdditional Event Information\nTicket price includes all range fees. \nAdditional Range Information\nThe Bedford Contingent is South Central Indiana’s Premier Shooting Facility. Located just north of Bedford\, Indiana\, “The BC” features a 300-yd rifle range\, a large\, comfortable fully-enclosed building for meetings\, and is available year-round for public and private events. Primitive camping available (please reserve ahead of time\, donation appreciated)\, porta-potties and potable water on-site.

Paul Revere did not ride alone – many individuals played crucial roles in the events of April 19th\, 1775. \nThis history presentation begins with alarm riders warning “the Regulars are out!” You’ll hear about the dramatic stand on Lexington Green and the “shots heard ’round the world” at Concord’s North Bridge. The tale concludes with harrowing life-or-death choices made along the 17 mile “battle road.” \nThis exciting tale will be woven throughout the day’s marksmanship events. \nAdditional Event Information\nYour range fee is included in the ticket price. \nWin a Copy of “Paul Revere’s Ride”\nOur history presentations are based on “Paul Revere’s Ride” by David Hackett Fischer\, a thoroughly researched recounting of the events leading up to the historic skirmishes between Patriots and Red Coats at Concord and Lexington on April 19\, 1775. \n\n“The true story of Paul Revere’s ride is very different from the popular myth of the lone rider of the Revolution…This is a tale of contingency\, with great events hanging in the narrow balance. It is the story of free people\, making hard choices. Most of all\, it is about America’s half-remembered heritage of collective action in the cause of freedom. When Paul Revere and his many friends alarmed the Middlesex countryside\, they were carrying that message for us.” \n\nWe will be giving away a softcover copy of “Paul Revere’s Ride” to one lucky participant at this event.

Magazine-fed semi-automatic rifles generally work best for our classes\, but any other type of rifle (tube-fed semi-automatic\, lever-action\, bolt-action\, etc.) can be used as well. Bring whatever rifle you have and we will work with you. \nRequired Equipment: You should plan to bring the following equipment to the event: \n\nat least two magazines for your rifle\nat least two magazines for your pistol\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nclothing appropriate for the weather (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\n\nIt is helpful that all ammunition be of the same type (i.e. same weight\, manufacturer\, etc) for this event. Our volunteers have identified several accessories that may be helpful at this type of event: \n\npistol accessories\nrifle accessories\n\nRifle shooting will primarily be at 25 yards. Pistol shooting will primarily be at 7 yards. Rimfire pistols and/or rifles will be perfectly suitable for this event. \nWe will not be drawing from the holster in this class and we will run a “cold range.” You will not need a holster to participate in the class activities. \nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\nsling for your rifle (a US GI sling is preferred; loaner slings are typically available at the event)\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nshooting mat\, carpet remnant or similar\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nLoaner Firearms: loaner firearms suitable for use at this event are generally available but limited. Please contact the Event Director if you would like to request a loaner firearm. \nAdditional Range Information\nYour ticket price includes all range fees and lunch. \nSpectators are welcome but will be asked to remain a safe distance from the firing line (ear protection is required for all spectators; eye protection is optional). Additional lunch tickets will be sold for $10/person on the day of the event. \nOvernight Accommodations\n\nA block of rooms are available at the Holiday Inn Express in Bedford\, IN (about 15 minutes south of the range). Call the hotel directly (812-279-1206) and ask for one of the rooms reserved for “Revere’s Riders/Marty Brown Memorial Open”. The block of rooms will only be held until July 15th; after that\, the rooms will be made available to the general public. \nEvent Sponsors\nWe would like to thank the following event sponsors for their generosity in helping to make this event possible. \n\n\n\n\n\nLWRC International\n\n\n\n\n\nGun Storage Solutions\n\n\n\n\n\nProMag/Archangel\n\n\n\n\n\nIWI\n\n\n\n\n\nPremier Arms\n\n\n\n\n\nGun Tote’n Mamas\n\n\n\n\n\nCrossbreed Holsters\n\n\n\n\n\nBrownells\n\n\n\n\n\nA&A Optics\n\n\n\n\n\nClenzoil\n\n\n\n\n\nGander Outdoors\n\n\n\n\n\nAmerica’s Gunsmith Shop\n\n\n\n\n\nKitanica\n\n\n\n\n\nDaniel Defense\n\n\n\n\n\nUM Tactical\n\n\n\n\n\nHodgdon Powder Co.\n\n\n\n\n\nWalkers\n\n\n\n\n\nATI Outdoors\n\n\n\n\n\nMagpul\n\n\n\n\n\nWilson Combat\n\n\n\n\n\nSIG Sauer\n\n\n\n\n\nOntario Knife Co\n\n\n\n\n\nCVA\n\n\n\n\n\nSCCY\n\n\n\n\n\nWalther\n\n\n\n\n\nVortex Optics\n\n\n\n\n\nHiding Hilda\n\n\n\n\n\nTaurus\n\n\n\n\n\nD&E Printing\n\n\n\n\n\nTimber Creek Outdoors\n\n\n\n\n\nRock River Arms\n\n\n\n\n\nVoodoo Tactical\n\n\n\n\n\nSafariland\n\n\n\n\n\nAlien Gear Holsters\n\n\n\n\n\nCrimson Trace\n\n\n\n\n\nHi-Point Firearms\n\n\n\n\n\nKestrel Meters\n\n\n\n\n\nMossberg\n\n\n\n\n\nColt\n\n\n\n\n\nAdco Sales\n\n\n\n\n\nPalmetto State Armory\n\n\n\n\n\nKelTec\n\n\n\n\n\nBenelli\n\n\n\n\n\nHenry Repeating Arms\n\n\n\n\n\nSpent Rounds Designs\n\n\n\n\n\nNine Line Apparel\n\n\n\n\n\nTarget Factory\n\n\n\n\n\nAguila Ammunition\n\n\n\n\n\nIndy Arms Company\n\n\n\nEva-Dry\n\n\n\n\n\nTed Nugent\n\n\n\n\n\nWindham Weaponry\n\n\n\n\n\nBravo Company Mfg

SUMMARY:RR -- Pistol 145 (Intro to Defensive Pistol) – One Day (Terre Haute\, IN)
DESCRIPTION:Pistol 145 Overview\nPrerequisites: Suggested—Revere’s Riders Pistol 100 or similar. \nEstimated Ammunition Required: About 500 rounds/day. \nPistol Requirements: You will need a safe pistol (either semi-auto or revolver is fine) with at least five round capacity to fully participate in this course. Pistols should be of a modern\, drop safe design. \nRequired Equipment: You should plan to bring the following equipment to the event: \n\nat least two magazines for your pistol or speed loaders for your revolver\nstrong side holster that does not collapse when your pistol is drawn (no appendix\, ankle or small-of-back holsters)\nmagazine holster\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nclothing appropriate for the weather (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\n\nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nOverview: Pistol 145 begins with an overview of the range rules\, safety procedures and quick reminder of the fundamentals from basic pistol. \nAdditional Event Information\nMinors (under 18 years old) must be mature enough to follow the instruction and perform the drills as well as have a parent or legal guardian present during the event. \nAll questions concerning the event should be directed to Jake Woodcock (click link below for contact information).

\nWin a Copy of “Women Heroes of the American Revolution”\n \nEvery schoolchild knows about Paul Revere’s 20-mile ride to warn that the “Regulars are out!” Far fewer know that 16-year-old Sybil Ludington rode twice as far on her horse Star in order to help her father\, Colonel Ludington\, muster his scattered troops to fight a marauding enemy. Few know about Martha Bratton\, who blew up a supply of gunpowder to keep it from approaching British troops and boldly claimed\, “It was I who did it!” \nWe will be giving away a softcover copy of “Women Heroes of the American Revolution” to one lucky participant at this event.

And check out the one minute promo trailer!

SUMMARY:RR — Rifle 262 (Field Rifle) – Two Day (Camp Atterbury\, IN)
DESCRIPTION:Rifle 262 (Field Rifle) Overview\nPrerequisites: STRONGLY SUGGESTED — Rifle 125* or previous experience with CMP\, 3-Position Highpower or NRA disciplines. \nIf you cannot consistently hit a 5″ circle at 100 yards WITHOUT the aid of a benchrest\, bipod\, sandbag\, or other stabilizing aid you are not prepared for this event and we strongly suggest you attend a Rifle 125 event prior to participation in Rifle 262.  If you are unfamiliar with the standing/seated/prone positions and sling usage\, you will be frustrated.  If you are physically unable to execute those positions you will be frustrated.  If\, however\, you want to test yourself and your rifle out to 500 yards then this event is absolutely for you.  Material from Rifle 125 will only be briefly reviewed. \nEstimated Ammunition Required: Bring 250-300 rounds/day. It is important that all ammunition be of the same type (i.e. same weight\, manufacturer\, etc) for this event. Our volunteers have identified several accessories that may be helpful at this type of event. \nRifle Requirements: You will need a safe rifle chambered in a centerfire caliber of your preference (we will be shooting at distances beyond the effective range of most rimfire calibers). Please make an effort to get a known zero prior to attending (25 yds or 200 yds preferred\, but any known zero will work).  At the very least\, bore sight your AR-platform or bolt rifle by pulling the bolt and aligning the sighting system with the bore at a mark 25 yards away.  If you are not zeroed\, we will make an attempt to get you there but a good zero will facilitate your learning. \nRequired Equipment: You should plan to bring the following equipment to the event: \n\nsling for your rifle (while a US GI sling will work perfectly well for this event\, many prefer a more easily adjustable sling)\nat least two magazines for your rifle\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nclothing appropriate for the weather (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\n\nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nshooting mat (we will be shooting from grass covered berms so a mat is probably not necessary)\nhigh powered binoculars or spotting scope\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nOverview: Rifle 262 is focused on practical shooting under field conditions against targets at a variety of ranges out to 500 yards with qualification opportunities at 100-400 yards. Students will review: \n\nField Shooting to known distances to include target detection\, target identification\, wind compensation and ballistics correction\nCalculation of minutes of angle for precise sight adjustments at all ranges and application to field shooting problems\nData collection (“DOPE”) for shooting to known distances with your rifle and ammo\nField-expedient ranging of targets at unknown distances\nSighting system calibration and repeatability testing\n\nRifle 262 picks up where Rifle 125 leaves off.  Students\, having mastered the fundamentals of marksmanship\, learn to apply their skills out to 500 yards.  Students will have multiple opportunities to challenge the Full Distance Hits Count Qualification Test.  Most importantly\, students will learn the capabilities of their rifle—and themselves. Contact the Event Director prior to registering with questions. Data to provide a starting point on ballistic information can be calculated beforehand using one of the many free or low-cost ballistic calculator apps available for smartphones. \nProfiles of Patriots\nWe will take brief breaks throughout the day to honor George Washington and the men who embraced his leadership while battling for their (and our) Freedom. \nAdditional Event Information\nAll participants must purchase tickets by the DEADLINE of 5:00 PM on 24 May 2019.  Absolutely no registrations will be allowed after this deadline. The unique venue for this event requires that additional information be provided for each participant (collected when you purchase your ticket). This information is a requirement of Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center (CAJMTC) and your information will be shared with Military Police and the Range Control office. Your information will not be used in any manner other than to allow your admittance to the installation and to contact you regarding this event. Pre-registration is required so that we can forward your information to CAJMTC in time for the event. You are also responsible for reading the below additional range information specific to Camp Atterbury. Please keep in mind that we are using a military facility and military rules and discipline are in force. Camp Atterbury is an active military installation\, as such we may have our scheduled access removed as late as the day before the event. If that happens (it has not in the past) we will contact all participants to reschedule for a later date or issue a refund. \nRefund Policy\nRefunds will only be issued for this event due to weather or cancellation of the event by military authorities. Absolutely no refunds will be given for any other reason. \nAdditional Range Information\nThere are some things about shooting at Camp Atterbury that you should be aware of\, please read the following carefully: \n\nStart time—check-in is at 7:30 AM Eastern Standard Time/Eastern Daylight Time. For those in most of Indiana\, this is 7:30 AM. For those coming from the Central time zone\, it’s 6:30 AM. Safety briefing is at 8:00 AM Eastern time\, sharp. We will not wait to get started. The day will be long and we can’t afford to lose time here.\nCAJMTC firearms policy—NO FIREARMS are permitted beyond the rifle(s) you declare when you purchase your ticket to be used on the range for this event. This means concealed carry is NOT allowed. If you or your vehicle are searched\, your rifle(s) submitted at the time of ticket purchase is all that will be allowed on base. If any sidearms or non-declared long arms are discovered\, you will be turned away if not detained by Military Police and your event fees will not be refunded.\nA total of 250-300 rounds of the same ammunition will be required; i.e. all the same ammo brand\, bullet type and weight.  Plan to carry 150+ rounds on you each day.\nThe elements/weather—the known distance ranges are not sheltered in any way. If it’s sunny\, you will be out in the sun. If raining\, you’ll be out in the rain. Bring what’s appropriate for you and the forecasted weather. Layered clothing is best so that you can adjust to the changing temps. Events are not canceled due to the weather (exception with extreme weather only; i.e. tornado\, severe storm/lightning). Do not bring portable shelter as the firing line will be moving frequently.\nEquipment—sling\, shooting mat (if desired\, but see “Additional Recommendations” below)\, high powered binoculars or scope\, at least two magazines\, a way to take notes\, ear and eye protection. Please note that ear and eye protection are required.  Keep in mind that you will be walking several miles each day\, and just ask yourself “is this item really worth lugging that far?”\nHydration—make sure to bring enough water/Gatorade/etc. to stay hydrated. It might be cool early in the day but the wind can take it out of you as fast as the heat.\nFood—there will be a designated time for lunch and history. Please bring what food you need. Leaving base for lunch is not an option and we will continue without anyone who is late returning from lunch. If everyone brings food that can be eaten on the fly\, all the better.\nDirections from the gate to the range control building—essentially\, you continue through the cantonment area on the road you came in on. You will come to a stop sign across from the fire department. Range control is on your left.\nA $10.00 per day range fee payable cash is required at check-in from each person attending.  This is in addition to your ticket price and is collected directly by Camp Atterbury.\nYou will be moving all your equipment between each firing point\, all day. If you have a disability or require assistance to stay on your feet\, let us know before signing up and we will try our utmost to work with you.\n\nAdditional Recommendations\nFinally\, some notes from experience: \n\nIt can always rain in Indiana and rain gear is light\, bring it.  Rifles are not made of sugar\, and they won’t melt if they get wet.\nA shooting mat should be a mat\, not a tarp. Tarps blow around\, require folding\, collect rain. We cannot have folks pitching a campsite every 100 yds. The U. S. Army has provided grass at each firing distance and you do not have to carry it. Leave the mat at home if you can and enjoy nature.\nWater is your first best friend\, start drinking an extra quart a day two days in advance. Bring at least two quarts each morning to the range.\nPower bars or energy bars are your second best friend\, bring several.\nA mesh or light cloth bag for collecting brass is very helpful. Snag an old pillow case when the spouse isn’t looking.\nYou can get sunburned in the winter.  Sunscreen and chapstick are light and easy to use.  A hat with a bill rocks.\nA clean rag is priceless when you need it.\nYour rifle will get dirty\, rained on\, and scratched. Leave the safe queen at home\, this event is for rifles you mean to shoot.\nDon’t bring cheap ammo for sighters and expensive ammo for score. Yes\, it has happened; no\, it didn’t end well.\nMake sure your scope or sights are tight and locktite was used. We have seen scopes fall off rifles. More than once.\nMake your lunch light and nutritious; this is not the place for Snoballs and Diet Coke.\nDress as if you will be doing landscaping work all day and your spouse will not let you back in the house until dark. Toss in rain gear and you will be fine.\n\nSeriously… \nBring everything you need and nothing you will not use. \nOvernight Accommodations\nCamp Atterbury has civilian overnight accommodations at very reasonable rates. For more information\, rates and reservations\, please contact Camp Atterbury Lodging. \nEvent Sponsor\n\n\n3M Peltor has graciously provided Revere’s Riders with Peltor LiteCom Plus communications headsets for use at this event. These headsets incorporate radios allowing wearers to communicate with each other via their headsets. Extremely convenient for ranges where the target line is manned like Camp Atterbury.

DESCRIPTION:Pistol 100 (Basic Pistol) Overview\nPrerequisites: None \nEstimated Ammunition Required: About 200 rounds/day. \nPistol 100 includes classroom and range time learning to shoot handguns. Students learn: \n\nRules for safe gun handling & range rules\nPistol parts and operation & ammunition\nShooting fundamentals: Five steps to firing each shot\nTwo Handed Grip & Stance: Isoceles\, benchrest\, and low ready positions (Weaver may also be taught)\nNatural Point of Aim\nShot Group Analysis\nClearing Common Stoppages\nWhittemore’s Stand Pistol Qualifier\nClassic WW2 Pistol Qualification Test (optional)\n\nThis course\, based on traditional American service pistol fundamentals teaches “Hits Count!” This course lays a sound foundation for students to shoot groups under time pressure from a practical stance. \nPistol Requirements: You will need a safe pistol with at least five round capacity to fully participate in this course. Pistols should be of a modern\, drop safe design. \nOther Equipment Requirements: We will not be drawing from the holster in this class and we will run a “cold range.” You will not need a holster to participate in the class activities. \nThe Midnight Ride of Paul Revere\nHear the true story of Paul Revere’s famous ride and learn about the events that immediately precipitated the Revolutionary War.

SUMMARY:RR--Rifle Qualification “Grinder” – One Day (Crawfordsville\, IN)
DESCRIPTION:Rifle Qualification “Grinder” Overview\nPrerequisites: Rifle 125 (or equivalent) required. \nEquipment: Bring at least 400 rounds of ammunition and a safe rifle (round count will depend on how many Rifle Qualifiers you shoot. You may shoot as much or as little as you want throughout the day\, but you may have the opportunity to shoot as many as 600+ rounds). Shooting will be at 25 yards. \nBring your centerfire rifle\, rimfire rifle\, carbine\, bolt-action\, automatic\, with open sights\, a scope\, a red dot or all of the above if you want. \nOverview: This is a new event offering for those that have attended our Rifle 125 and wish to continue working on their marksmanship skills. We will be running our 25 yard Rifle Qualifier throughout the day without the usual instruction and history that is common to our other events. Except for a quick rifle zeroing target in the morning\, this event will be back-to-back 25 yard Rifle Qualifiers. \nThis is your opportunity to work on earning a rifle patch or improve upon the patch you earned at a previous Rifle 125 event. This is also a good opportunity to test your skills with a different rifle\, or a different sight\, or left handed\, or in different clothing\, or… ? \nAdditional Event Information\nYou are not required to stay the entire day (shoot just one Rifle Qualifier and call it “good enough” if that is what you want to do) but you MUST be present for the range safety instructions first thing in the morning. \n
