Cardinal Greenway Bike Ride and Camp
The trip will leave 8:00 Saturday morning from Indianapolis area. The club van will be used to transfer bikes, gear and people to Richmond, IN. We will start riding the Cardinal Greenway trail at Richmond and end up at the Prairie Creek Reservoir campground Saturday afternoon. Saturday’s distance is about 34 miles. Riders will need to bring snacks / lunch to eat along the trail. Saturday’s dinner will be provided. We may visit the National Model Aviation Museum in Muncie if time allows.
After a a hearty breakfast Sunday morning we will ride 30 miles to Upland, IN home of Taylor University and the world famous Ivanhoes ice cream shop. Riders will need to bring a snack to eat during the ride. After enjoying ice cream we will return to Indianapolis Sunday afternoon.
This trip will include using the club van for transportation, one supper, one breakfast and camping fees. Camping gear and supplies will be transported by the van. Riders will need to have a bicycle in good working condition, provide their own food while riding and be able to travel at 12 mph for 35 miles. There will be rest breaks. We will camp at Prairie Creek campground Saturday night. Each rider must provide their own tent, sleeping gear and eating utensils. Questions? Contact John South at 317-531-0361.
