This is a joint event with the Indy On Fire Group.

Join us at Clifty Falls State (http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/2985.htm) park for a guided tour of 5 waterfalls and then a hike through some streams.

Our itinerary is simple. We will take a 1 hour trail hike with the guide (10:00AM – 11:00). This will be the 5 waterfalls. http://www.in.gov/activecalendar_dnr/EventList.aspx?view=EventDetails&eventidn=22887&information_id=54008&type=&syndicate=syndicate

After the waterfall hike, we will venture out to the fire tower. Those who are adventurous can climb the tower. The tower allows views of the river and usually a few dozen turkey vultures. Bring binoculars.

Once the hike is over, we will go to the Falls Restaurant at Clifty Inn (inside the park) for lunch. The Inn has a buffet and reasonably priced food menu. If for some reason the Inn is closed, there are lots of dining options in Madison.

If you want to carpool from Indianapolis, meet at the WalMart (4650 South Emerson Avenue, Indianapolis). We will leave promptly at 8:00AM whether you are there or not. The drive is about 2 hours each way and $10 per rider is suggested to cover the driver’s gas.

If you want to meet us at the park, be at the Clifty Shelter by 10:00AM. This is a guided tour provided at no charge by the park. Please be respectful of our guide’s time and effort and arrive on time. The gate attendant can give you directions to the shelter. It is closest to the North entrance.

Wear weather appropriate clothes. Bring a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, etc, as appropriate.

Bring water and a trail snack if you like.

Dogs MUST be on a leash. Small children and small dogs may not do well on these trails.
