For our first hike of spring, we’ll be making a short road trip to this state park, and we should have a great day for a hike. We’ll plan to tackle the infamous and challenging Trail 9, an out-and-back trail on the southwest section of the park.
This will be a rugged hike, so it’s recommended that everyone please consider their limits before signing up.
For anyone who would like to meet us there, we’ll be meeting at the parking lot at Ogle Lake. A map of the park is located at the Indiana DNR website here: http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/2988.htm.
Admission to the park is $7 per vehicle.
We’ll plan on grabbing some lunch at the inn within the park after the hike.
Car Pool Info: Our car pool will be meeting along the west side of Bishop Chatard High School, which is on the corner of Kessler Boulevard and Crittenden Avenue, at 5885 Crittenden Avenue. The parking along the street is free on Saturdays. We’ll meet on the sidewalk at the school entrance front near the corner and be leaving at 8:30am.
Please note:
Car pool @ 8:30am
Hike @ 10am
Trails: Rugged; 6 – 7.5 miles
Length of hike: 2.5 – 3 hours
See you there,
Michael
