Short Paddle Eagle Creek Reservoir
Difficulty Level: Easy – Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced
The weather is supposed to good so we will try to do a quick paddle. We need to stretch our kayaking muscles.
We will be meeting at the Dandy Trail boat ramp, located about a block north of Rick’s Cafe Boatyard at 2:00pm, launch at 2:30pm and plan to be off the water by 4:30pm.
The boat ramp entrance fee is $5, cash only. You can optionally purchase yearly passes.
If you don’t need to drop off a boat at the ramp there is a free parking lot between Rick’s and the boat ramp. If you park here you’ll have to walk about 100 yards to get to the launch site.
Suggested items to bring: Kayak or SUP, paddle, PFD, wide brimmed hat, sun block, hand sanitizer, sunglasses, large sponge, bilge pump or container to bail out water, water, snacks, weather radio, towel, change of clothes, water shoes, paddling gloves, rain gear, bug spray, safety whistle, drybags, Ziplock bags, camera, binoculars, rope, headlamp or flashlight, a sense of adventure, and a good dose of humor.
For clothing try to use something other than cotton, especially since the weather is cool. Polypropylene or polyester are good choices since neither holds water and they wick moisture away from you. Dress appropriately for cold water. Dry suits or wet suits are highly recommended. Bring a change of clothes, just in case.
Rental Boats: If you need to rent a kayak, contact Freedom Kayak Adventures at[masked]. The cost for this event is $25 for a single seater and $35 for a tandem kayak.
