• PIFN–Camp Atterbury “Pop Up Target” Pistol Event (Sept 30, 2017)

    Half day event at the Camp Atterbury "Pop-Up Target" Pistol range. The range consists of electronically controlled "pop-up" targets that can be programmed to raise/lower in a myriad of sequences and with varying degrees of difficulty for the shooter. This range is normally not accessible to the general public; this is a very unique opportunity to experience the same training environment as some of our nation's most elite soldiers.

  • HCKC–Eagle Creek Clean-Up (Sept 30, 2017)

    We will have a shoreline cleanup of Eagle Creek on Saturday, September 30th. This is an opportunity to pay back one of our local partners and one of Indianapolis’s premier paddling resources by cleaning up the shores of Eagle Creek reservoir.

    This is a scenic trip on the East Fork of the White River ending at Hindostan Falls. It is a 13.5 trip so plan on 6 hours on the river with a lunch stop. This is a good beginner trip; just be confident that you are capable of paddling at least 6 hours straight.

    We will have a moonlight paddle at Eagle Creek on Saturday, October 7, 2017 since there is a nearly full (97%) moon on this evening. The sun will set at 7:17 pm and the moon will be rising at 8:55 PM at 75 degree's East North East. Hopefully, we'll have clear skies.

    The Blue River is one of every paddler's favorites. IDNR says the Blue River flows through one of the most scenic, interesting and diverse areas of Indiana. In summer it is packed with public rental boats, and so the HCKC is planning it for October when we can enjoy the glory of fall on the Blue to ourselves. It's a 14-mile trip -- be sure you're up for a long day on the river . . .

    The Raccoon Creek paddle trip during the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival has been a signature event of the HCKC since its inception. Enjoy an awesome trip on a challenging stream, with lunch riverside along the festival grounds. Hey guys, this is a "don't miss"!
